:D Hi everyone,

:bounce: I've just purchased my 2009 TMAX a couple of weeks ago. I purchased mirrors to replace the fairing-mounted mirrors.

This installation comes in a complete kit to replace your Fairing-Mounted Mirrors with Handlebar Mounted Mirrors! I think it looks cool! because the original - TMAX mirrors were too tall, kinda like trailer towing mirrors or something

. . . or alien mirrors :alien:

You can watch this INSTALL Video now, and see how easy it is to replace them, If you want to. I've uploaded a video to show you how I installed them.

Nice looking, but they're so much lower than the stock mirrors. Is the view to the rear still acceptable? And is that a bar mount or brake lever setup in the video?

Still like the "alien" tall ones. :alien:

Don't have to look down, or hold my elbows in.

Hi saabguy85,

Yes, the mirrors are much lower and you have to bring your eyesight down a little to view your mirrors, but they are a comparable size (mirror space) - so It just takes a little getting used to. In order to look a little downward to view behind you.

These mirrors are mounted on the brake lever pivot Screws. They come with replacement screw kits. The difference in the viewing is like going from seeing your shoulders to seeing your arms within the mirror views.

My thing is, I want to mimick a "Sport - Motorcycle" as much as I can, with having the comfort of a scooter and I think I am one step closer after this mirror install :D NO More alien antenna mirrors. :alien:

By the way, I'm so excited I received my Battery Tender today and ALL of the "Black" colored fairing panels for my Tmax today! I know it's kinda a waste of money, but I love the ALL Black-Look of the 2011 style Tmax! So, I'm replacing all of the Blue fairing panels - to the Black panels.

I plan to post videos of my installation. Later, maybe next week.

Thanks soo much for your communication, I'm really happy to be a Tmax owner. I just love the bike! and glad to talk to other owners, like you.

I'd love to see you join my website also.

Hi BWT, great to hear from you. You helped make part of my decision to purchase my new 2009 Tmax! With your easy to follow YouTube Vids and knowledge you shared, along with the stylish appearance of the Tmax, I made the decision to purchase. I thank you very much for your sharing! :bigsmurf:

I've been inspired so much that, as a web designer, I've started creating a "Scooter-Talk.com" forum myself. I don't wish to take from here, but offer more outlets for new owners, new and used, as well as ALL other scooter owners, another place to research.

I've share some links to your videos there as well. What a great teacher you are :!: Thanks, again :!: I hope to produce a few help-videos myself for the Tmax

Already tagged your site, look forward to checking in there from time to time. :D

Well, being 6'3" I already see my elbows in the mirrors, so I think I'll stick with the stock mirrors as they're nearly at eye level for me. And dealing with Utah cagers, I want my eyes forward much as possible!

Todd,

How do you like the mirrors? I'm looking at the orion mirrors that are lower profile but affix where the stock (antennas) go and I'm looking at this one that mounts on the handlebars. Do you notice if there is more vibration at speed with these?

Thanks.

Hi shoupdawg,

I really like these mirrors. I can see the side of my elbows in the mirrors, but mostly see full side rear-views. I guess it would depend on your body-build (me 5'11 and 165lbs.) If you were of a bigger body-build you may want to get the mirrors that mount off of the fairing because I think this would bring them out a bit more

If you mean vibration of the glass, affecting the mirror image :?: . . . I have none of that, it's very clear and sturdy. Mind you, this has been just on the few errands I've made with the bike since I installed the mirrors, with a top speed of approx 70mph.

:bounce:  Hahah...I just caught that, "Stock Antennas" :alien:

Close in parameters. I'm 6'0'' about 160 with a 34" inseam depending on the pant maker. I do like the more aggressive look, though I got a taller smoked out windshield. Sorry, but where again did you purchase these?

Thanks.

I purchased the "Viper" Mirrors ("Brake-Lever-Post-Mounted") here:

http://www.moto-science.com/product/2008-10-and-2012-yamaha-tmax-t-max-viper-mirrors-kit-pair

They were $198. Everything you need to install the pair. They shipped them the same day I ordered them and received the FAST. Approx. 3-4 days later!! :bounce:

You can watch the video installation here: http://scooter-talk.com/how-to-install-handlebar-mounted-mirrors-on-tmax-2008-2011/ :D
Folks - Where can I get the rubber grommets to cover the windshield holes? I'm picking this up and they don't have a rubber grommet:

Yipes...$46 per grommet! Anyone else have some cheaper options?

Thanks Todd.
