From you experienced 2 wheelers out there, for scooters in general or the Majesty in particular, is the bike more stable when on the side stand or on the center stand?
Thanks! _________________ 09 Majesty |

Center stand. I only use the side stand in my garage where I know it is dead flat and nothing will bump it off. _________________ This member does not require mod-coddling. |

5 seconds for piece of mind...
posting that topic probably took more time than what it'll take to use the center stand for as long as you have your bike.. |

I almost always use the side stand but you do have to be aware that it can fail if the ground is not solid. (Mud, sand, gravel, dirt for example)
It could also fail when pointed downhill if you don't use the handbrake.
I had that happen on my motorcycle. When I got off the bike fell over & pinned my leg under it. |

I agree that I most always use the side stand, however I agree that it is more stable on the center stand for sure...
Just be sure to set your parking brake to minimize the chances of it falling off the side stand. _________________ Brian R.

I always use centre stand except when the scooter is facing a high uphill. Than i use sidestand with parking brake. It is really difficult to put it off the centre stand in that situation. _________________ Smokey Grey Majesty 2007 - Denso Iridium Plug - Yamaha Decals - Yamaha Sport Windshield - Blue Instrument Panel - White LED Front Position Bulbs - 5000K Diamond White H4 Headlights - Blue LED Shadow |

I set the parking brake and use the side stand. I use the center stand when I am ready to leave my yard (after backing her up and pointing her toward the street--that way I can warm her up a few seconds). I have a coaster on the ground in the yard and am getting darn good at parking over it when I return. That is how she spends most of her time, in fact: parking brake on, set on the coaster.
I have another coaster in my glove box for travel use.
Due to the weight of the bike, I am better off with the side stand. It is an effort (a small one) to stabilize the bike and get it up on the stand. Far easier for me to set the brake, put down the stand, and slowly and gently set her on it.
But that is just me. _________________ 2007 Blue "Sasha"

I use the center stand 99% of the time. When I do use the sidestand I make sure I have the parking brake on.
I like the center stand on my Majesty as it takes only takes seconds to put my Majesty up on it and I like how sturdy it is. _________________ 09 Majesty (Just picked up 10/31)

| When parked at the end of the day, it ALWAYS goes on the center stand since kids may play in the back (like mine) and I don't want to take any chances. When out riding, I usually just do the side stand, although it did fall over on me the other day. Not too bad, caught it with my legs, but side stand can be tricky. |

+1 on the center stand unless on a steep hill. (If on a steep hill, face up the hill, side stand down, rear brake on.) _________________ 2009 Yamaha Tmax (blue)

I rarely use the center stand except when doing maintenance. It's much easier to use the side stand and parking brake. I agree that the center stand can be more stable in many situations, but the side stand can be more reliable in softer ground. _________________ 2008 Black Majesty

The few times, I have used the side stand have resulted in having to "catch" my scooter from falling over because it sunk in soft sand or warm blacktop! Thus, I use the center stand almost exclusively! _________________ Life is short, so jump on your scooter and ride to the setting sun!
