When my V-belt 'light' came on at 12,500 mls, I inspected it and surprisingly it was barely worn. No frayed edges or cracks or anything detrimental like that. The manual says the specs are:

V-belt width
30 mm (1.18 in)
<Limit>: 27 mm (1.06 in)

I'm gonna check it again in a few thousand miles and keep doing that until it wears or I think I'm pressing my luck. I put that info up for the OP in case the reason he asked about the procedure is because the 'light' came on. YMMV.

At 25K my belt was still "in spec". I changed it because it was ten years old,and I didn't want to risk having any issues on a long trip I was taking. From now on, I'll just check it for wear rather than miles.

Gonna change the belt, got 16 thou&its a 2005. How long are the rollers good for? Its running fine & I dont see a need to change weights or get higher performance parts-goes fast enough for me as it is

I had ordered my rollers when I ordered my belt, just in case, so I wouldn't have to pull it apart again. I checked my old rollers and they were barely worn. Unless yours are out of round, they should be perfectly fine.
